5-string bluegrass banjo lessons in st. louis, missouri
I’ve been playing banjo for over 30 years, not counting the times I bought a banjo, tried it for a few months and then sold it! I was giving lessons even though I couldn’t play it very well when I decided I’d finally get serious and learn to play it correctly. I bought myself the Earl Scruggs book, Foggy Mountain Banjo, borrowed a cheap, imported banjo from a friend and I was on my way.
My banjo playing is pretty much straight Scruggs style bluegrass. My banjo influences range from Earl to Ralph Stanley, J.D. Crowe, Alan Munde, Scott Vestal and again, many others. I like most banjo players unless they get too jazzy or too chromatic sounding.
I offer 5-string, bluegrass, Scruggs style banjo lessons at my studio in Kirkwood, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis. In addition I give guitar lessons, so if you’re interested in that, visit my other website: blguitars.net.
The studio address and phone number is:
